Sailing Off The Coast of Navarre, Florida

Sailing and Relaxing.

On a recent trip to the Florida panhandle to visit extended family, I was lucky enough to enjoy relaxing afternoon sailing on a Hobie Cat. It’s always nice to take some time out to have a meditative, simple time when on a hectic family vacation, and this sailing trip was the key to resetting back to a slower pace. The waters off the Florida panhandle are warm, clear, and gorgeous. The white sand beaches are some of the prettiest in the world.

Of course, I always like a little extra adventure. This day’s fun was accidentally capsizing the catamaran by pushing it a little too hard, and the boat rental guy from Key Sailing came out on a Waverunner to help get the boat righted. Bonus fun: a quick ride on the back of a jetski. It’s hard to think of a tipped boat as a failure when the benchmark of success is having a great time.

What do you do for fun when you’re traveling?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
